The Gladiator (and its Hero form, the Duelist) is a dual-sword powerhouse built around Sonic charges. In the Grand Olympiad it lives or dies on burst timing, so preparation matters as much as reflexes.
Key Olympiad skills
- Triple / Double Sonic Slash — your main burst, fuelled by Sonic charges.
- Sonic Blaster & Sonic Buster — spend charges for big single hits.
- Sonic Barrier / Sonic Move — defensive and gap-closing utility.
- Duelist Spirit, War Cry, Braveheart, Battle Roar — self-buffs; stack them before the countdown ends.
- Riposte Stance — counter melee bursts from other fighters.
Equipment
- Weapon: Tallum Blade + Dark Legion's Edge (dual) is the classic setup.
- Armour: Imperial Crusader (heavy) for tanky matchups, or Tallum Heavy; Tateossian jewels.
- Swap items: Staff of Evil Spirits for Bless the Body, Hell Knife for Mental Shield — buff, then swap back.
Dyes
Gladiators balance STR (damage) against DEX (crit, accuracy, atk. speed). A popular Olympiad spread is roughly +STR / −DEX with a small DEX top-up, e.g. +4 STR −4 DEX and +1 STR −1 DEX. Full per-class dye advice is in our dyes guide.
Combo & tactics
- Enter the arena pre-buffed with all self-buffs active.
- Build charges fast, then unload Triple Sonic Slash → Sonic Buster while your target is locked.
- Use Riposte Stance against other daggers/tyrants to punish their opener.
- Against mages, close distance immediately — a Gladiator that reaches a caster usually wins.
